Ensuring Clean Groundwater
Lower Danube Countries
Use of groundwater is increasing, as is the need for clean run-off into the supply from agricultural pursuits. We have been involved in a project spanning the lower Danube countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Ukraine) to develop methods and approaches to reduce the loss of nutrients and pesticides from agriculture. The project included the analysis of current legislation and enforcement, a review of agrochemical inventories and developing best agricultural practice.
