Learning and development

Help Achieving Your Potential

Your development is critical to our success and we will therefore support you to achieve your potential through structured and informal learning and development.

This starts with a comprehensive induction which will help you quickly adapt to your new role and contribute effectively as member of your new team.  Thereafter, we will focus on developing you in-line with the opportunities presented through the diverse projects in which you will be involved and your career aspirations, thereby developing you both professionally and technically.

Broad Range of Learning Opportunities

We take a blended approach to development recognising that learning opportunities arise from a vast array of sources.  In addition to formal programmes supporting your development as manager and a leader of people and projects, we take advantage of Industry programmes, the knowledge of those around us and the projects with which we are involved.  Moreover, we support our people to improve their professional knowledge through academic study and we will pay for up to two of your subscriptions to recognised professional bodies.

Professional Recognition

We recognise the value of mentoring and coaching, and those who are seeking professional recognition with their chosen institution will receive support to do so; furthermore, we have formal training schemes recognised by:

• The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
• The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM)
• The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)
• The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE)
• Engineers Ireland (IEI)
